Installation

Prerequisites

Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements:

• ExpressionEngine 3.10.x or 4.1.x or 5.x or 6.x or 7.x or later
• PHP 7.4 (Maps 4.1.0 and higher needs PHP 8.0)
• cURL
• allow_url_fopen enabled (the Google Maps route provider uses it)
• Maps 4.x or higher

Installation Instructions

• Upload the folders to the right dir
• Install the module in Add-Ons → Modules
• Add a route provider in the Maps module (see below)

Route providers

The routes are calculated by a route provider, which is set in the Maps module: go to Add-Ons → Maps → Route Providers and fill in the API key of the provider you want to use. The available providers are:

• Google Maps
• Bing Maps

A provider without an API key is not saved. When you fill in an API key for both providers, Google Maps is used.

For Google Maps the API key needs the Directions API enabled (with billing) and must not be restricted to HTTP referrers, because the route is requested by the server. See How it works.

Update instructions

• Backup the Files and the Database
• Remove all the old module files (both system and themes)
• Place the new files in the right folders
• Navigate to the module page and trigger the update process, by clicking on the "module update" button

This version is a major update that can only be installed on top of version 2.x or higher. See https://addons.reinos.nl/news/maps-suite-3

Important notes

• This module needs the Maps module to work
