Introduction

Wyvern is a WYSIWYG fieldtype for ExpressionEngine, built on CKEditor 5. It knows your site: link to pages, entries and templates by ID, insert files from the File Manager, and let the editor help you write.

Features

• A modern editor with headings, lists, tables, media embeds, code blocks, find and replace, fullscreen and a word count. It follows the theme of the control panel, light or dark. See The editor.
• Links that keep working: link to Pages/Structure pages, entries of any channel and templates from the link balloon, or type @ and a title. Links are stored by ID, so they survive a changed url. See Links.
• Broken links: a page in the control panel with every link to a page, entry, template or file that does not exist (anymore). See Broken links.
• Files and images from the EE File Manager (or Assets), drag & drop and paste uploads, and switching an image between the image manipulations of its upload directory.
• Responsive images: srcset from the image manipulations, sizes, width/height and lazy loading on your site, without changes to your templates. See Responsive images.
• AI writing assistant with Claude, OpenAI or Gemini and your own API key: write a text based on the entry, or rewrite, shorten, translate, ... the selection. See AI writing assistant.
• Toolbars: a drag & drop toolbar builder with a live preview, a toolbar per member role, and per toolbar which HTML is allowed. See Toolbar.
• Portable content: urls of files and of your site are stored as {file:ID:url} and {base_url}, so content moves with the site.
• Optionally obfuscates and links email addresses on your site.
